International charity, the Society for the Protection of Animals Abroad (SPANA) achieved a Green Mark Level 1 on the 4th November 2019! SPANA showed excellent enthusiasm in achieving the Green Mark, leading to them developing a mature environmental policy and action plan that will frame their sustainable practices going forward.
Here’s what SPANA said about their Green Mark:
“As a charity, we want to ensure we have only a positive impact in every aspect of our work. The Green Mark accreditation has been a fantastic guide to assist us in implementing changes that we are confident will improve our carbon footprint, it was less challenging than we expected and the Green Mark team were very patient and helpful throughout the process.” – Victoria Phillips
Here’s what Green Mark had to say about SPANA’s certification:
“We would like to congratulate SPANA on achieving Green Mark Level 1.
SPANA show great concern for reducing CO2 emissions from travel, as well as wanting to reduce waste and energy usage within their offices. Their commitment to the environment is underlined by their Green Mark achievement, in particular, their focus on reducing emissions from air travel wherever possible.
When achieving the Green Mark they demonstrated strong sustainable policies within their new Environmental Policy and we will be recommending them to move onto Green Mark Level 2 in the future. Congratulations again on showing tangible environment commitment, the Green Mark certification is well-deserved.” – Dave Price, Director
