Congratulations to Sunbury Design for achieving Level 1 Certification this April. This is what their design director Ben had to say about why he chose Green Mark, and the benefits it’s brought:
“There is a growing demand our customers for our textile products used in hotels, cruise ships and other public spaces to be made from recycled materials and responsible sources. As well making our products more sustainable, we also wanted to show our company’s environmental commitment in understanding and reducing the impact of our general business activities.
Never having drawn up an environmental policy we came to Green Mark as complete novices. Overall, we found the Green Mark process easy to understand and follow with tools and advice on hand to assist us when required. We were impressed by the logical and professional approach that Green Mark offered and the process itself helped us identify areas where can improve that would otherwise have been overlooked. We would certainly be happy to recommend Green Mark.
We intend to continue to follow the Green Mark program hand in hand with the development of our sustainable and recycled product ranges. Our feeling is that a strong sustainable message will become an important part of our brand as well as being the right thing to do for the planet.”
Green Mark’s Director, Dave Price, added:
“Sunbury Design’s Level 1 certification is well deserved. They have demonstrated a tangible commitment to the environment, not only in their products, but also in their business practices. They felt that, as a small business, the ISO 14001 accreditation wasn’t suitable for them, but they used the Green Mark process to focus their attention on sustainability, and found it provided them with a lot of useful opportunities that will affect the decisions they make when developing their business in the future. Congratulations again on achieving Level 1 accreditation.”
