How 7ReGen are paving the way forward for sustainability in domestic insurance repairs

All stories Back to all stories

7ReGen is a building contractor operating in the domestic insurance repairs, supporting homeowners after events like fire and flood damage.

Customer care sits at the heart of the business and…

Sustainability was the next step.

In a market where sustainability is often talked about more than it is acted on, 7ReGen saw an opportunity to do something different. Not just to improve internally, but to stand out, lead, and show clients what meaningful progress in sustainability looks like.

An opportunity for 7ReGen to lead in sustainability

Why it mattered to clients (and the supply chain)

Sustainability was becoming more important to clients, but there was little consistency or visible action across the industry. For 7ReGen, this was more than a compliance exercise. It was an opportunity to differentiate.

As they put it:

“In the insurance repair market there is much said about engaging with the green agenda but not much action. 7ReGen wishes to be different and lead the way.”

They wanted to demonstrate real commitment, give clients confidence, and support them on their own sustainability journey.

The challenge: turning good intentions into a consistent plan?

Like many growing businesses, the challenge was not motivation. It was structure.

There was no clear framework to turn ambition into consistent, measurable action. And in a busy operational environment, sustainability risked becoming something discussed occasionally rather than embedded day to day.

The approach: building a platform for progress

GreenMark gave 7ReGen a structured way to move forward.

Through its framework and environmental management system, the business was able to:

  • introduce a clear process for identifying and implementing improvements
  • build internal awareness through regular employee briefings
  • create consistency in how sustainability is approached across the business

Once the basics were in place, the team had the confidence to experiment, test ideas, and push further.

The impact: visible progress, inside and out

Internal engagement, external confidence, ownership, and clearer client communication

GreenMark has helped 7ReGen turn sustainability into something tangible.

Internally, awareness and engagement have grown. People are now actively contributing ideas, with employees identifying new ways to improve how the business operates.

Externally, the shift is just as clear. 7ReGen now communicates proactively with clients, sharing regular updates on progress and helping them stay ahead of sustainability and regulatory expectations.

Simple, visible initiatives are reinforcing that progress, from awareness campaigns like Green Jumper Day to tree planting for every new client order.

As the business describes it:

“There is strong awareness by our client base that our business ethic is structured around wishing to endorse sustainability and have appropriate Green credentials.”

What’s next for 7ReGen: building on strong foundations

For 7ReGen, GreenMark is not a one-off milestone. It is a long-term commitment.

7Regen’s Scotland office has already achieved GreenMark Level 2!

The business is progressing through the accreditation levels and continuing to build its knowledge, capability and impact over time.

As the team puts it: “We have a long way to go but we are learning.”

A practical lesson for other SMEs

7ReGen’s experience highlights a simple but important issue. Sustainability starts with structure and develops with consistent actions.

With the right framework in place, businesses can move quickly from ambition to action, build engagement across their teams, and create a clear point of difference in their market.

And from there, the impact compounds.
